Water sports kayaking and canoeing have now been recognised by Rajasthan Sports Committee as per which participants will now be able to avail the benefit of TA-DA(travel and daily allowance).

As stated by Rajasthan Sports Committee, winners on state level, national level and international level will also be awarded with prize money. Now that these water sports have been recognised by Sports Committee, possibilities of Water sports academy in Udaipur are seeing a positive turn. Once Water sports academy opens in Lakecity Udaipur, competitions of international level can be organised in the city.

Udaipur has had 6 events until now of national level where nationwide participation was witnessed. CM Raje had also attended a national event during Lake Festival. From 2012 to 2017 Udaipur has hosted many national level competitions. Udaipur players won 25 medals in such competitions. 6 medals in All India Inter University tournament, 9 medals in Open Nationals, 2 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze in All India National competitions were won by Udaipur players.

Pratiti Vyas and Shlok Pimpalkar participated in world championships. Coach Dilip Singh Chauhan is a member of Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association selection committee. Public is eagerly waiting for the commencement of water sports academy of international level in Udaipur which will prove to be beneficial as participants will get the opportunity to prove their mettle on international level as well.
