First-Ever Khelo India Asmita Women's Pencak Silat League in Udaipur
League supported by SAI and Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports; to be held in Hiran Magri Sector on November 23
Udaipur, Nov 10, 2025 - The Pencak Silat Association, Udaipur, will organise the Khelo India Asmita Women’s Pencak Silat League 2025 in Udaipur for the first time, with the aim of empowering women through sports. The competition will be held on Sunday, November 23, 2025, at Saraswati Shikshak Sadan located in Hiran Magri Sector 4, Udaipur.
Tournament Director Harish Kumar Sanwariya informed that the league is being conducted under the aegis of the Sports Authority of India, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Khelo India.
The main objective of this league is to inspire women and girls to advance in self-defence and sports. All girls and women aged five to 45 years can participate. The competition will be completely free of cost.
What is Pencak Silat
Pencak Silat is a full-body martial arts form which is traditionally practised in many southeast Asian countries. It officially made its debut at the 1987 Southeast Asian Games and the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia. It incorporates strikes, joint manipulation, grappling and throwing, in addition to weaponry. Every part of the body is used in the fight and is subject to attack.
