Almaty,, Oct 1, 2025: India's chess prodigy Kiyanna Parihaar has made a mark on the international stage by winning the bronze medal in the Under-10 Girls category at the World Cadet Chess Championship 2025. Representing India, Kiyanna scored 8.5 points out of 11 rounds, with a performance rating of 1897, showcasing a remarkable leap from her initial rating of 1728.
Throughout the 11 rounds, Kiyanna consistently demonstrated exceptional skill, defeating notable opponents such as Josipa Gasparac from Croatia, Sabina Sadvokassova and Maryam Taubassar from Kazakhstan, Aleksandra Vitsiuk from FIDE, and Olivia Xu from the USA. She also secured two draws en route to claiming the bronze medal and bringing pride to India.

This 8th International medal in Almaty adds to Kiyanna's illustrious career. In 2023, she won the Asian Youth Chess Championship title, and in 2024, she became the National Under-9 Chess Champion. Earlier in April 2025, Kiyanna secured a bronze medal at the World Cadet and Youth Blitz Chess Championship held in Greece.
As a Class 5 student at MDS Senior Secondary School in Udaipur, Kiyanna trains under the guidance of Coach Hemal Thanki. Her parents are immensely proud of her accomplishment and extend their gratitude to her sponsors, Neev Society and Wonder Cement.
Kiyanna's journey from an initial ranking of 18 to winning a bronze medal highlights her mental resilience and dedication to the game.
