Udaipur, April 19, 2025 - Kiyanna Parihaar, the nine-year-old chess prodigy from Udaipur, has created history by winning a bronze medal at the prestigious FIDE World Blitz Chess Championship held in Rhodes, Greece. She is the first player from Rajasthan to win a medal at a world-class chess tournament.
Kiyanna’s performance in the tournament was truly remarkable. She scored 9 out of 11 points against some of the world's strongest opponents. Her impressive victories showcased her mastery of the game and established her as one of the top young chess players globally.
The young chess sensation from Udaipur defeated Poland’s Alicja Przewlocka, Belarus’s Valeryia Zhytkevich, Romania’s Eliza-Ioana Badescu, Vietnam’s AFM Hoang Bao An Tran, Tunisia’s Lina Hadhek, Poland’s Helena Tardajko, Slovakia’s Bianca Macakova, Ukraine’s Daria Kravchuk and Turkmenistan’s Selbi Arslanova. She secured the bronze medal after a tie-break with the second-place competitor.
The World Blitz Chess Championship was held in Greece from April 12 to 18 featuring talented young chess players from around the world. Kiyanna's bronze medal in the Under-10 Girls category is a testament to her talent and hard work.
Her achievement is a source of inspiration for young chess players, proving that with dedication and passion, age is no barrier to success.
