Udaipur Chess Prodigy Kiyanna to Represent India at Greece FIDE Games

The nine-year-old chess sensation, Kiyanna Parihaar will play in the World Cadet Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship from April 12 to 18 in Rhodes

Udaipur, April 8, 2025 – Nine-year-old chess sensation from Udaipur, Asian champion Kiyanna Parihaar will represent India at the FIDE World Cadet Rapid and Blitz Chess Championship to be played in Greece. Kiyanna has been selected for the Indian team. The championship will be held from April 12 to 18 in Rhodes, Greece.

The young champion will depart for Greece on April 10.

Kiyanna, a Grade 5 student at MDS Senior Secondary School, Udaipur, has already made a mark on the international chess circuit. She won five gold and on one silver medal at the Asian Youth Chess Championship.

The young prodigy began playing chess at the age of just four, under the guidance of her father Jitendra Parihaar and with continued moral support from her mother Dr Manisha Gehlot.  Currently, she is training under chess coach Hemal Thanki.

Shailendra Somani, director of MDS Senior Seconday School, Udaipur, has extended his best wishes to Kiyanna.
