June 24, 2025 - KL Rahul, who missed out on a 50 after a good start in the first innings of the first Test against England at Headingley, scored a brilliant century in the second innings. He completed his century in 202 balls. With this, Rahul has not just made one or two, but many records. He has become the only Indian opener to score three Test centuries in England. This is the 9th century of Rahul's Test career.

KL Rahul scored a century at Headingley, Leeds, after scoring hundreds earlier at the Oval and Lord’s. In the first innings of this match, Rahul made 42 runs from 78 balls with 8 fours. He also had a strong opening partnership of 91 runs with Yashasvi Jaiswal.

This latest century is Rahul’s 9th in Test cricket. He now has three centuries in England, two in South Africa, and one each in Australia, India, Sri Lanka and the West Indies. Rahul is the only Indian opener to score three Test centuries in England. This shows how well he plays in different countries.

With this, Rahul has moved to second place in the list of Asian openers with the most Test centuries in SENA countries (South Africa, England, New Zealand, and Australia). He has gone past Pakistan’s Saeed Anwar. Sunil Gavaskar is still at the top of this list.
