Kranti Football Academy: IIM-U students re-script the spirit of the game

The two villages adopted by Kranti Football Academy (KFA), namely Raghunath Pura and Kali Magri played a football match at the MLSU ground yesterday. Kali Magri took home the honors to win both (boys and girls) matches with the score of 5-0 and 3-0 respectively.

Kranti Football Academy (KFA), operating from IIM Udaipur has adopted these two villages nearby their campus to train the children living there, to play football.

KFA is the brainchild of a group of students of IIM-U, which includes Pradeep Meena, Gaurav Meena, Abhishek Kumar and Dipankar Behera. They believe in the football philosophy – a beautiful game that needs to be played by every child, regardless of his/her background, caste or gender.

The thing that makes Kranti Football Academy special is their initiative to make girls play football. The objective is to help them enjoy their childhood, provide them with a platform to gain confidence and achieve things in their own lives.

Kranti Football Academy: IIM-U students re-script the spirit of the gameThey seek to convey a message and fight against child-marriage, labor and help them understand the importance of their health.

After a month of consistent coaching and emphasize on various football principles, a match was organized on Sunday.

The Best Player of the Match (Boys) from both sides was given to Surender (Kali Magri) and Ramesh (Raghunath Pura), whereas Poonam (Kali Magri) and Phulwanti (Raghunath Pura) got it from the girls’ teams.

Kranti Football wants to prepare players for Rajasthan and the Indian team. It plans to expand in other villages of Udaipur district to bring in many individuals, to play the game and get the best out of them.
