India Outshines at International Kudo Championship With 13 Medals

Rajasthan gets five medals; India's total tally of three gold, six silver and four bronze at Armenia event

Udaipur, October 24, 2024 - India put up a magnificent performance at the International Kudo Europe-Asia Championship which was held in Yerevan, Armenia, from October 16 to 23. The team bagged a total of 13 medals, including three gold, six silver, and four bronze. 

Shihan Rajkumar Menaria (6th-degree black belt), international coach and vice-president of the Kudo International Federation of India's Referee Council, informed that on the Foundation Day (October 19) of Indian Kudo Federation, the team’s excellent effort, under the leadership of head coach and Kudo Asia's General Secretary, Hanshi Mehul Vora, was a worthy gift…with 13 Medals on the 13th anniversary of the federation.

Gold Medalists:

  1. Rahul Kumar (Jalore, Rajasthan): Boys under 14 years, -42 kg category

  2. Daniya Shah (Mumbai, Maharashtra): Girls 13 years, +52 kg category

  3. Sukhraj Singh Chavan (Buldhana, Maharashtra): Boys, +52 kg category

Silver Medalists:

  1. Vidhiraj Kanwar (Jalore, Rajasthan): Girls under 16 years, -43 kg category

  2. Vrinda Soni (Alwar, Rajasthan): Girls under 13 years, -42 kg category

  3. Priya Thapa (Himachal Pradesh): Women +21 years, +220 kg category

  4. Daniya Shah (Mumbai, Maharashtra): Girls under 16 years, +52 kg category

  5. M.D. Farhan Naeem (Maharashtra): Men under 19 years, -270 PI category

  6. Chiranjeev Tiwari (Bikaner, Rajasthan): Men under 19 years, +270 kg category

Bronze Medalists:

  1. Utkarsh Patel (Madhya Pradesh): Boys under 19 years, -220 PI category

  2. MD Sohel Khan (Madhya Pradesh): Men +21 years, -250 PI category

  3. Babulal Chaudhary (Rajasthan): Men +21 years, -270 PI category

  4. Vaishnavi Singh (Madhya Pradesh): Women +21 years, -220 PI category

Hanshi Mehul Vora, general secretary of Kudo Asia and leader of the Indian team, said this achievement would be a milestone in celebrating the development and success of Kudo.

Rajnandini, president of the Kudo Association of Rajasthan (KAR) and a national committee member of the Kudo International Federation of India, stated that Rajasthan contributed the most with five medals, which reflects the dedication and hard work of players and coaches. Rajasthan has held the All India Champion title for the past seven years.

The winners were congratulated by notable personalities from the film and sports world.

Menaria said the Indian team will return to the country on October 24 and a grand welcome is being planned at Mumbai Airport.
