Kushti-Dangal to start from 24 Sept
In the memory of legendry wrestler Ustad Karan Singh Pahalwan, a traditional wrestling competition known as kushti-dangal will be held on Sept. 24 & Sept. 25 at Maharana Acharya Sanskrit College, Chanddpol Bahar.

Ustad Karan Singh Pahalwan founded Bhim Rashtriya Vyayamshala in 1957 and since then trained and prepared many national level wrestlers in this akhada. Ustad Karan Singh had also organized many dangals in his lifetime and also got honored as a technical officer in Asiad Games 1982.
In a press conference held today at Town Hall Dilip Singh Chouhan, chief of Ustad Karan Singh Pahalwan Memorial Trust informed,“Being a dedicated wrestler, Ustad had also served Udaipur and its people with active participation in politics; he remained a city councilor from 1971-9174 and again in 1999-2003.”
“This event is solely in the memory of our legendry guru Ustad Karan Singh,” says Dilip Singh. The prospect of organizing this event is to create a platform for budding wrestlers from Mewar region and more than 200 wrestlers are expected to participate in this wrestling competition.
Wrestling competitions are divided into several weight categories like above 65 kg., 55-65 kg, 45-55kg, 45 kg, 55kg and 35 kg.
Inauguration of ‘dangal’ will be on 24th September at 5:00 pm. Education Minister, Master Bhanvar Lal, MP, Raghuveer Singh Meena and other political and social dignitaries are expected to grace the occasion.
All matches will be carried out on 12×12 foam mattress as per the international rule and proper arrangements of lightings are made for matches going to be held in evenings.
