Led by Udaipur’s Chaufla, India Lifts Racketlon Challengers Cup After 6 Years
Historic victory in Rotterdam as India defeats top global teams under Vikramaditya Chaufla’s captaincy; second world title for the Udaipur-based athlete
Udaipur, Aug 8, 2025 - For the first time since 2019, India has claimed the Racketlon World Championship Challengers Cup. This historic victory was led by Udaipur’s Vikramaditya Chaufla, who captained the team. In a competition featuring teams from more than 15 countries, India triumphed over major opponents such as France, the USA, Germany and Denmark to secure the title.
India beat the US in the quarter-finals before advancing to the semi-final match against Germany which they also won. The final match was played against Denmark which India clinched in a thrilling victory.
The win in Rotterdam marks not only a defining moment for Indian Racketlon but also a proud achievement for the city of Udaipur.
Chaufla’s calm leadership, clear planning and steadying temperament helped India have one of its best Rakketlon guns ever. Already a Nations Cup gold medallist, this is the former badminton player’s second world title.
Udaipur’s Prashant Sen also played a key role in this memorable victory. Other team members were Prashant Sen, Nihit Singh, Suhail Kapur, Krishna Kotak, Nidhi Tiwari and Raghav Jatia.
