LSG beat KKR in last-ball thriller at Eden Gardens, Mukul Choudhary shines unbeaten 54

April 10, 2026: Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) pulled off a spectacular victory at Eden Gardens on Thursday, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by three wickets in a final-ball thriller. Chasing a target of 182, LSG secured their second win of the IPL 2026 season, thanks to strong performances from Ayush Badoni and Mukul Choudhary.

Batting first, KKR posted 181 for 4 in 20 overs. Angkrish Raghuvanshi played a steady knock of 45 off 33 balls, while skipper Ajinkya Rahane scored 41 off 24 balls with aggressive intent. Rovman Powell (39*) and Cameron Green (32*) added valuable runs in the final overs to push the total past 180. For LSG, Digvesh Singh Rathi was the standout bowler, finishing with figures of 1/25.

Chasing 182, LSG had a poor start as KKR’s Vaibhav Arora struck early. He removed Mitchell Marsh (15) and Aiden Markram (22) inside the powerplay. Skipper Rishabh Pant also failed to score big and made only 10 runs. At one stage, LSG were struggling at 73 for 3 after nine overs and under heavy pressure.

Badoni steadies the innings and Choudhary finishes the chase

Ayush Badoni played a very important innings. He scored 54 off 34 balls with seven fours and two sixes. He also crossed 1,000 IPL runs during this knock. Badoni kept the innings stable even when KKR spinners Sunil Narine and Anukul Roy slowed the scoring rate. However, he was dismissed when LSG were still in trouble at 125 for 6.

Mukul Choudhary then became the hero of the match. He played a brilliant unbeaten innings of 54 off 27 balls. He hit seven big sixes and played with full confidence under pressure. With LSG needing 14 runs in the final over, Choudhary finished the chase in style, helping LSG win with three wickets in hand on the last ball of the match.

For KKR, Anukul Roy (2/32) and Vaibhav Arora (2/38) were the main wicket-takers. But the rest of the bowlers failed to take wickets at key moments. In the end, LSG showed great calmness under pressure and completed a memorable last-ball win in a high-intensity match.
