MDS Students Excel in National Chess Championship
Vihana and Lorisha Kothari display outstanding playing skills at the 69th National SGFI Chess Championship held in Tripura
Udaipur, Dec 13, 2025 - Students of MDS School brought pride to their school and Rajasthan with an outstanding performance at the 69th National SGFI Chess Championship held in Tripura from November 27 to December 1, 2025. Vihana Kothari and Lorisha Kothari of MDS participated in the national championship putting up outstanding performance and emerging top performers from Rajasthan.
After delivering the best performance at the trial camp, Vihana was selected as captain of the Rajasthan team. Through her excellent leadership skills and impressive gameplay, she led the team to a commendable ranking. Rajasthan secured 16th position among a total of 33 teams, marking a notable achievement in the tournament.
Lorisha also strengthened the team’s performance with her exceptional gameplay and focussed teamwork.
MDS School director Dr Shailendra Somani along with their coaches and parents congratulated the students and extended their best wishes to them.
