In what can be said to be a cutting edge final match played between Mewar Football Club and Mayo Nostalgia in the first Futta – 5A Side Football Tournament held at Hotel Shikarbadi, Mewar FC took home the trophy after beating Mayo Nostalgia by 4-1.

Mayo, one of the toughest teams of the tournament dominated the first half; Siddharth V.V’s goal in the first 2 minutes disappointed the opponent Mewar FC. The second half however turned aroundthe match with Mewar FC’s come back. Mahendra’s goal ended the 2^nd half in a tie.

The climax descended on the penalty shoot-out and Mewar FC took to it perfectly. The strikers, Surendra Singh, Mahendra, Ashish and Bhupendra’s goals secured the Champions of Futta.

Manuvardhan made one goal from Mayo’s side in the penalty shoot-out.

The winning team received warm gestures by Lakshyaraj Singh Mewar. The prize distribution ceremony was done by the Chief Guest Devendra Singh of The Study School.

The winning team received Rs.10000 in Cash, Medals, Certificate and a Trophy, while the Runner-up got Rs.6000 with certificates and medals. All participating team members received certificates from Shalom Enterprises, organizer of Futta.

The program concluded with performances by the official Band of The City Palace and some fireworks.

Jinu K. Samuel, chief organizer of Futta told UT that the tournament received overwhelming support by the participating teams and sponsors. “Before the start of tournament, I thought to make it an Annual event but people have started asking me when Futta-2 will come, now I am thinking to make it a Quarterly event”, said Jinu.
