City’s second multi-speciality sports complex is complete at MB Ground and will be inaugurated next month. The other multi-speciality sports complex in Udaipur is at CTAE.

Prof CR Suthar, Chairman of Sports Board informed that announcement of this sports complext was made in 2011 by then sports minister Ajay Maakan. Post that Rs 6 Crore were approved by sports ministry towards the same. Currently a budget of Rs 7.23 Crores has been prepared for this of which Rs 1.23 Crore will be paid by University. Rs 4.2 Crores has already been received from sports ministry and only the last tranche of Rs 1.8 Crores is now pending.

The 60×40 meter sports complex has the provision of 4 badminton courts side by side. The premise has seating capacity of 1200 people. Changing rool has also been provided for players. The complex will provide facilities for all indoor games.

Post inauguration of the multi-speciality sports complex, it is anticipated that the West Zone Men’s basketball tournament under 10th all India tournament will be held in this complex in October/November this year.
