National Shooting: Rajasthan Wins Skeet Mixed Team Event

Anantjeet Singh Naruka and Maheshwari Chauhan crowned champions at National Shooting Championship Competitions 2024 defeating Olympian Mairaj Ahmad Khan and Areeba Khan in a close contest

Udaipur, December 26, 2024 - The pair of shotgun shooters from Rajasthan, Anantjeet Singh Naruka (26) and Maheshwari Chauhan (28), have won the Skeet Mixed Team event title for Rajasthan at the National Shooting Championship Competitions 2024 in New Delhi. In the final match held yesterday at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range, Paris 2024 Olympians Anantjeet and Maheshwari defeated the Uttar Pradesh pair of veteran and two-time Olympian  Mairaj Ahmad Khan and his partner Areeba Khan in a tough contest. The winning score was 44-43.

The Rajasthan duo demonstrated exceptional skill and teamwork to win the coveted gold medal. The final was a closely contested match, with Naruka and Chauhan edging out the Uttar Pradesh pair by a narrow margin and marking a significant achievement for Rajasthan in the shooting sports arena.

Ganemat Sekhon and Abhay Singh Sekhon won the bronze with a 44-41 win over Raiza and Ishaaan.

Anantjeet had won the silver in the 2023 Asian Games, bronze in the trap event at the ISSF World Cup Final in October and a silver in Skeet at the Asian Championships in January. Maheshwari won the gold at the Asian Championships this year in the women’s team event and has two individual bronze medals from the continental meet.
