Udaipur, January 24, 2025 - Nazia Banu, shooting coach at the Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon Shooting Range in Udaipur and the only rifle-pistol shooting coach in the Gold Quest programme, has been selected as one of the top 10 coaches in India for the Olympic Gold Quest (OGQ) high-performance coach programme.

Nazia is a talented shooting coach and former shooter from India. She has achieved significant recognition in the field of shooting sports, particularly in rifle and pistol events. A former 10-metre and 50-metre shooter, Nazia is currently training under the International High-Performance Coach Programme in Maharashtra. Her selection for the Coaches Excellence Program (CEP) came as a result of the dedication, commitment, and hard work she demonstrated during the Coach Foundation Programme in 2024.

Nazia has participated in several national-level tournaments and championships, including events in 10-metre, 50-metre prone, and 50-metre upright shooting. In 2024, she completed a course under the Sports Authority of India (SAI) at the National Institute of Sports, Patiala, and the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in Delhi. She has also represented the shooting team as a manager at the 36th National Games held in Gujarat.

District Sports Officer Dr Mahesh Paliwal, along with the staff and coaches at the Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon, congratulated Nazia on her achievement. Her achievements, both as an athlete and a coach, have made her a prominent figure in the shooting sports community in India.

The CEP was started by OGQ with the goal of training Indian coaches who will eventually produce more Olympic champions. To equip the upcoming generation of high-performance Indian coaches, CEP brings together elite coaches and specialists in sports science, technical and tactical training and soft skills training.
