IPL 2025: Nicholas Pooran's Fiery Knock Destroys SRH, Smashes 12 'Fours and Sixes' in Just 25 Balls

Udaipur, March 28, 2025: Last season, Sunrisers Hyderabad's openers Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head chased down Lucknow Super Giants' target of 165 runs in just 9.4 overs.

It seemed like Nicholas Pooran was eager to take revenge for that match today, and he did just that. Pooran played an explosive innings, scoring 70 runs off just 25 balls. His team, Lucknow Super Giants, successfully chased Hyderabad's target of 190 runs with 23 balls to spare and 5 wickets in hand.

Fastest Fifty of IPL 2025

Nicholas Pooran played a blistering knock, scoring a fifty in just 18 balls against Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium, marking the fastest half-century of this IPL season. In the first match, Pooran had also hit a fifty, taking 24 balls. Today, his explosive innings included 6 fours and 6 sixes, once again tormenting Hyderabad in his Caribbean style.

Mitchell Marsh Continues His Form

Mitchell Marsh, known for his impact performances, smashed his second consecutive fifty, scoring 52 runs off 31 balls. However, Rishabh Pant struggled once again after being dismissed for just 15 runs off 15 balls. If Pant had contributed more, Lucknow might have finished the chase in just 13-14 overs.

Hyderabad's Struggle with the Bat

After losing the toss, Hyderabad's innings lacked aggression. In the third over, they were already under pressure as Shardul Thakur dismissed both Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan. Despite this, the team managed to score 62 runs for the loss of 2 wickets in the powerplay.

Travis Head, who played a solid knock of 47 runs off 28 balls, kept Hyderabad alive before getting dismissed. Heinrich Klaasen tried to continue the momentum but was run out after scoring 26 runs off 17 balls. Late cameos from Aniket Barma (36 off 13 balls) and Pat Cummins (18 off 4 balls) helped Hyderabad post a competitive 190 runs.

Lucknow Bounces Back

This was Lucknow Super Giants' first win of IPL 2025 after losing to Delhi in their opening game. On the other hand, Sunrisers Hyderabad faced their first defeat after beating Rajasthan Royals in their opening match.
