National Hockey: Odisha and Himachal Advance to the Semis

Udaipur, Jan 16 - In the pre-final matches of the 69th National School Hockey Championship played on Thursday (January 15) morning, Jharkhand defeated Bihar 4-0, Delhi advanced after receiving a walkover against CISCE, Odisha beat Uttar Pradesh 2-0, CBSE defeated Chandigarh 3-2, and Himachal Pradesh edged past Haryana 1-0.

According to Sub-District Education Officer (Physical Education) Laxman Salvi, Punjab defeated Kerala 7-1, Rajasthan beat Gujarat 5-2, and Madhya Pradesh defeated Andhra Pradesh 6-1 to enter the quarterfinals.

Media In-charge of the competition, Gopal Mehta Menaria, informed that two quarterfinal matches were played in the evening session on Thursday. Odisha and Himachal Pradesh won their respective quarterfinal matches and advanced to the semifinals. In the first quarterfinal at the International Astroturf Ground at Mahrana Pratap Khel Gaon, Odisha defeated Madhya Pradesh 2-1, while in the second quarterfinal, Himachal Pradesh beat CBSE 3-1 to secure a place in the semifinals.
