Sunday to Sunday Open Chess Championship commenced on Sunday at MDS School, Sector 3. The championship saw around 150 participants from across the city.

Trainer and organizing secretary Vikas Sahu said that the championship running in three groups-A, B and C began on Sunday in which 27 FIDE players and others participated with full enthusiasm. The third round was inaugurated by International Judge Bhagwati Prasad Sharma, FIDE Arbiter Rajendra Teli and Director of MDS Dr. Shailesh Somani.

Organizer Vatsal Yadav and main judge Gayatri Kataria informed the students who proceeded in the next round. In group A, (under 7, 9, 11) Prabhav Maheshwari, Chinmay Jain, Kanishk Narang, Arun Kataria, Anisha Jain, Pallav Choudhary, Udlakshya Raina, Devansh Chechani, Shubhang Joshi, Mudit Maheshwari, Prakhar Pathak, Kushal Malkani and Dhruv Ajmera.

In group B (under 13, 15) Divyanshu Babel, Bhavesh Padiyar, Yash Mandavariya, Dhruv Dak, Kunal Chabbra, Gautam Kataria, Vandan Lodha, Neha Kumawat, Akansha Mehta and Naman Porwal. In group A of under 17, 19 and senior category selected students were Suraj Sahu, Vaibhav Sarupriya, Chandrajeet Singh Rajawat, Kapil Dhadhich, Atul Hingad, Monika Sahu, Yogesh Hingad, Harshit Chandaliya and Bhavy Suklecha.

The rest of the rounds will be played next Sunday from 8.30 am onward.
