Panch Gaurav Swim Camp Day 4: Training and Career Guidance
15-day Panch Gaurav swimming training camp underway in Udaipur focusing on technical skills, competition knowledge and career opportunities for young athletes
Udaipur, March 18, 2026 - Under the Rajasthan Government’s Panch Gaurav scheme, a 15-day swimming training camp is being conducted in Udaipur at Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon for players selected through block-level talent search initiatives led by the District Collector. On the fourth day of the camp, participating swimmers were taught not only technical skills but also theoretical knowledge.
District Sports Officer Dr Mahesh Paliwal informed that trainers Ranveer Singh Ranawat, Sandeep Soni, Dharmveer Singh Ranawat, Anil Kumawat, Sunil Kumawat and Sunil Nakwal provided structured training on freestyle arm action, kicking, breathing, floating and start techniques. During the sessions, each swimmer’s individual mistakes were carefully observed, and corrective guidance was given, resulting in noticeable improvement in their technical efficiency.
In a theoretical session, Ranveer Singh explained the structure, rules and competitive levels of various swimming events. He also informed participants about career opportunities in swimming, future prospects through sports and various sports schemes and scholarships run by the State Government.
Under the Panch Gaurav programme, swimming is being developed as a priority sport in Udaipur district, aiming to nurture local talent and prepare them for State and national-level competitions.
