Ind vs Eng Manchester Test: Pant Adds to India's Injury Worries
July, 24, 2025: Injury problems for the Indian team are not easing. Arshdeep Singh and Nitish Kumar Reddy were already injured before the start of the fourth Test match. Now, in this do-or-die match, Rishabh Pant also got injured while batting. He had to retire hurt after scoring 37 runs.
The incident happened during the 67th over of India’s first innings, being bowled by Chris Woakes. Pant tried to play a reverse sweep, but the ball hit his leg directly. He fell to the ground in pain. England appealed for LBW and took a review. The replay showed that the ball had touched the edge of Pant’s bat. He avoided being out LBW, but he suffered a serious leg injury.
Bloody Foot
The Indian medical team came onto the field. At first, it looked like the injury was not very serious. But when Pant’s shoe was completely removed, swelling was seen and blood was also coming out of his foot. The medical team and umpires called a mini ambulance onto the field because Pant was in so much pain that he couldn’t even place his foot on the ground. He was made to sit in the ambulance and was taken off the field.

72-Run Partnership
Before retiring hurt, Pant had an important 72-run partnership with Sai Sudarshan. He scored 37 runs before the injury. Pant’s injury could add more trouble for India. Nitish Kumar Reddy has already been ruled out of the series due to injury. Arshdeep Singh also missed the fourth Test because of a hand injury. Now, everyone is waiting to see how serious Pant’s injury is.
