March 14, 2026: The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is planning to take legal action against Zimbabwe fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani after he pulled out of the Pakistan Super League at the last moment to play in the Indian Premier League 2026.

Muzarabani has joined the three-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman. Mustafizur was released from the squad after instructions from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Earlier, Muzarabani was signed by Islamabad United for 11 million PKR in PSL 11 as a replacement for Shamar Joseph. The PSL season is scheduled to run from March 26 to May 3.

According to a report by Geo Super, the PCB was not happy with the fast bowler’s decision to leave the league. The board is now planning to take legal action against him.

This is the second year in a row that a player has left the PSL to join the IPL while both tournaments are happening at the same time.

Last season, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch was picked by Peshawar Zalmi as a Diamond Pick in the PSL. However, he later joined the Mumbai Indians as an injury replacement. Because of this decision, the PSL banned Bosch for one season.

Muzarabani’s Strong Form Before IPL 2026

Muzarabani arrives after a strong performance in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026. He was the leading wicket-taker for the Zimbabwe national cricket team with 13 wickets, which was the fourth-highest in the tournament overall.

The tall fast bowler played an important role during the Sri Lanka stage of the competition. He delivered match-winning performances against the Australia national cricket team and the Sri Lanka national cricket team.

His pace and consistent performances in international cricket and T20 leagues add more strength to the pace attack of the Kolkata Knight Riders before the new season.

Muzarabani is expected to join the KKR squad for preparations on March 17.
