Rajasthan's Prachi-Mayank Win First Khelo India Gold
On opening day of the Games, Rajasthan won a total of three medals - two gold and one bronze - in shootng and judo

May 6, 2025 - The duo of Prachi and Mayank Chaudhary from Rajasthan clinched the first gold medal at the Khelo India Youth Games 2025 by defeating Uttar Pradesh 16-15 in the final of the 10m air pistol Mixed Team event yesterday, May 5. The event was held at the Dr Karni Singh Shooting Range in New Delhi.
The match was tied at 15-15 at one point, but Prachi secured a decisive 10.6-point shot winning the gold for Rajasthan and pushing Uttar Pradesh’s Dev Pratap and Urva Chaudhary into second place.
“Ups and downs were there during the match, and I’m happy my last shot was good enough to give us gold. I’m happy to clinch the top prize with Mayank,” said the 18-year-old Prachi from Bharatpur who was part of a team that won silver last time.
Yesterday’s final saw one of the youngest participants, 14 year old Dev Pratap who put up a commendable performance for Uttar Pradesh. The Noida resident who is taking part in his maiden Khelo India Youth Games, said, “It is quite nice competing in the Games”.
On the opening day of the Games, Rajasthan won a total of three medals - two gold and one bronze. In judo, Ashwin Bharadwaj claimed a gold medal while Tanya secured bronze.
