Chess in Lakecity will be organizing 5th Late Shankarlal Mangrudiya Smriti Winter Open Chess Competition from Tuesday at MDS School, Sector 3. The competition is being held under the joint efforts of Buddhibal Seva Sansthan, Lions Club (Eklingji) and Mrignayni Seva Samiti.

Vikas Sahu, Coordinator & Chess Coach informed that players in the age group of 7,9, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19 and senior category will participate in the competition.

He further added, “The cash prizes to be won in total are Rs. 51,000, which is the biggest amount on stake in a Chess competition in Udaipur ever. The cash prizes will be divided in 40 categories.”

Interested candidates can apply for the competition at MDS School on Monday at 11 AM. The first round will be played on Tuesday, 30th Dec. at 10:30 AM.

Competition will follow the international Swiss formula in eight rounds.
