April 20, 2026: Punjab Kings delivered a complete performance to outclass Lucknow Super Giants by 54 runs at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur, New Chandigarh, continuing their unbeaten run in IPL 2026. Arya and Connolly power PBKS to record total
Priyansh Arya led the charge with a stunning 93 off just 37 balls, hitting nine sixes and four boundaries at a strike rate above 250. Cooper Connolly supported him brilliantly with 87 off 46 balls, including seven sixes and eight fours. The pair dominated the middle overs, with several overs going for more than 15 runs, including a 32-run over against Aiden Markram.
In the death overs, Marcus Stoinis and Shashank Singh added quick runs to push the total further. The duo smashed 20 runs in the 19th over, taking PBKS close to the 250 mark. Although the final over saw a slight slowdown with two wickets falling, Punjab still managed to finish with the highest total of the season, surpassing Royal Challengers Bengaluru’s 250/3 earlier in the tournament.

In reply, Lucknow Super Giants started with intent as Ayush Badoni and Mitchell Marsh added 61 runs in the powerplay. However, regular wickets slowed down their progress. Rishabh Pant played a quick innings of 43 off 23 balls, while Aiden Markram contributed 42 off 22 deliveries. Despite their efforts, LSG could not keep up with the required rate.
PBKS bowlers maintained control throughout the innings. Marco Jansen was effective with the ball, while others kept tight lines and picked up key wickets at regular intervals. Even though there were a few fielding lapses, including dropped chances, it did not affect the overall result.
In the end, Lucknow Super Giants finished at 200/5, falling well short of the target. Punjab Kings’ all-round performance ensured a convincing win, further strengthening their position as one of the top teams in IPL 2026.
Brief Scores: Punjab Kings 254/7 (Priyansh Arya 93, Cooper Connolly 87) beat Lucknow Super Giants 200/5 (Rishabh Pant 43, Aiden Markram 42) by 54 runs.
