Punjab recovers after early damages by Rajasthan Pacers

Fighting half centuries by Gurinder Singh and Jaskaran Singh helped Punjab to recover after Rajasthan Pacers attack destroyed their top and middle order in the 1st half of the days play in CK Naydu U-22 Cricket Championship.

Punjab was struggling at 152 for 8 wickets before Gurinder and Jaskaran came to the pitch and launched a counter attack on Rajasthan bowlers.

Both of them added 107 runs for the 9th wicket before Gurinder was caught at one of the balls by Daljeet Singh after making 75 runs. Earlier Rajasthan stuck early in the day through Naman Kataria and other medium pacers and destroyed Punjab top & middle order.

Jaskaran played an attacking inning of 66 runs with the help of 12 fours and remained unbeaten. Captain Kunwar Raina & Mohit Mohinder contributed 37 & 39 runs respectively for their team. Punjab ended their innings just before the close of 1st days play on 291 runs.

For Rajasthan Naman Kataria took 4 wickets while Daljeet Singh, Rituraj and Aniket Chaudhary took 2 wickets each for their team.

Rajasthan innings started on a poor note as India U-19 world cup player from Punjab Siddarth Kaul removed Rajasthan captain Ankit Lamba for no score and in the same over he also got the wicket of Awijeet Gupta.

Rajasthan is struggling on 17 for 2 by the end of the day. They will have to bat very cautiously on the 2nd day to avoid Punjab to take an inning lead.

The umpires officiating in this match are Mr. Ravi Belaru & Sadashiv Iyer. Match official Scorers are Mr. Manoj Bhatnagar & Mr. Narendra Nalwaya.
