Badminton match had to be stopped in the indoor stadium today. Due to constant rain, ceiling of Luv Kush indoor stadium started dripping and the match couldn’t be continued. Dripping ceiling gave indications of poor arrangements during tournaments. Since the indoor stadium was wet, some of the matches were played in Field club.
Parents of the players were also very uncomfortable because of rain. Winners of All India Junior Ranking tournaments are also participating in the badminton match. All the qualification rounds ended today, i.e. Wednesday. 27th July onwards, main competitions will begin. Around 200 students are participating in the competitions which will continue till 30th July.
The ceiling of Luv Kush stadium is now very old and needs repair. A sheet was spread on the roof to prevent water from penetrating in the rainy season. The sheet is also worn out giving way to water. Some of the Udaipur players who have qualified for the next round along with 58 others are Dishant Sukhwal, Saurabh Sen, Rachut Singhvi, Jitendra Jain, Rahul Sukhwal, Chand Chawat, Kunal Chowdhary, Peeyush Saini, Yashovardhan and Dushyant.
