Air Force Delhi team maintained their unbeaten run at the MKM All India Football Tournament at Zawar Mines today, when they ended the match with JFC Rajasthan with a 4-0 win.

Interestingly, the huge 4-0 margin came up only in the second half, since till Half Time, neither side scored any goal, in spite of aggressive play by both teams.  Rajasthan had plenty of opportunities in terms of field goal opportunities as well as Corners, but could not convert either.

The entire match shifted Delhi’s way, when their striker Kamaldeep scored the first goal of the match in the 30th minute of the second half, taking Delhi up 1-0.  If this was not enough, a Penalty kick awarded to Delhi in the 35th minute of the second half, resultant from a foul done by Rajasthan took Delhi up 2-0 as they did not miss this opportunity.  Rajasthan, not being able to take the pressure, gave away a third goal to the Air Force team, when Helder scored in the 37th minute.  Salt was added to Rajasthan’s fresh wounds in the final minutes of the match, when Jijo converted the fourth goal for the Air Force team from Delhi.

The second match of the day, which began later in the afternoon, saw a jam packed stadium as it was the local Hindustan Zinc team from Udaipur playing their first match.  People from across all villages around Zawar, including a record crowd from Udaipur came in to witness the match and bolster their team.  The Zinc team dominated the earlier part of the first half when they got plenty of opportunities, but none could convert.  Similarly, the team from East Godavari, Andhra Pradesh also failed to convert their opportunities, thanks to some brilliant goal keeping by the Zinc team.

Zinc dominated all through the second half as well, but luck was on the side of the team from Andhra Pradesh, as none of the aggressive and easy looking opportunities converted into the net.  Finally, with the match ending on a tie, the regulation Penalty shootout was resorted too.  The Penalty Shootout, seems to be a curse for Udaipur teams, as once again a team from Udaipur lost the Penalty Shootout 4-3.
