Rajasthan Enters Pre-Quarterfinals of National School Hockey

Udaipur, Jan 15, 2026 s- Rajasthan secured its place in the pre-quarterfinals by defeating Odisha 3-2 on Wednesday (January 14), winning all three of its league matches of the 69th National School Hockey Championship (Under-19 Boys).

All league matches were played by Wednesday and now the best 16 teams are competing in the pre-quarterfinals starting Thursday under a knockout format. From this stage onward, any team losing a match will be eliminated directly from the competition.

Apart from the Rajasthan-Odisha match, the results of the other matches played in the morning session are as such:

• Andhra Pradesh defeated Bihar 6-0
• Haryana beat Tamil Nadu 5-1
• Delhi defeated Uttarakhand 4-0
• Vidya Bharati beat Puducherry 3-0
• Karnataka edged past Jammu & Kashmir 4-3
• Punjab defeated CBSE Welfare 3-0
• CBSE beat Telangana 1-0
• Gujarat defeated DAV 4-1

In the evening session on the Astroturf ground of Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon, the results were as below:

• Bihar defeated Vidya Bharati 11-1
• Haryana beat Kerala 5-3
• CISCE defeated Telangana 13-0
• Madhya Pradesh beat Chhattisgarh 5-0

Cabinet and Tribal Affairs Minister Babulal Kharadi visited the Astroturf ground at Maharana Pratap Khel Gaon during the final league match, where he was given a traditional welcome. Rajasthan Hockey Team and season's hockey Academy coach Digvijay Singh Ranawat briefed the Minister about the matches being played across various grounds.

Physical Education teachers Ghanshyam Khatik and Maheshwar Pal Singh Soudha led the formal request for installation of floodlights at the Astroturf ground to facilitate night practice sessions and matches. Minister Kharadi assured full efforts towards this.
