Medals tally include five gold in the Fourth National Grappling Wrestling competition in Haridwar
Udaipur, November 26, 2024 – Rajasthan has won 10 medals, including five gold medals, in grappling during the Fourth National Grappling Wrestling competition in Haridwar organised by the Indian Wrestling Federation.
Tushar Mehta, secretary of the Grappling Wrestling Committee, said the grapplers from Mewar put up a commendable performance. Mangilal Salvi won the gold for the second time in the Gi-No-Gi. Gi is fighting in a uniform similar to Judo; No-Gi is fighting in a wrestling-like uniform.
Other winners include Jatin Patel who won a gold; Shwetank Joshi who secured a gold in Gi and silver in No-Gi; Payal Mehta won a silver in Gi; Riya Aswani who earned a bronze medal in Gi, Krishna Aswani won a silver in Gi-No-Gi; and Harsh Jain, Kavya Jain, Yash Sharma and Manthan Joshi each secured a bronze in No-Gi.
The team was given a warm welcome by committee members Rukmani Lohar and Rinku Goswami as well as teacher Tina Prajapat on their return to the city.
