Emphasizing on the importance of sport for youth, State Minister for Youth Affairs and Transportation, Ashok Chandna said that it is vital to develop the ecosystem for sports in the state.
With this perspective, the state government in Rajasthan has facilitated a 2% reservation for candidates under the sports quota. This will ensure that youth focus on sports as an alternative career, and if the sportsman is not able to pursue a career in sports, then at least a Government job is secure.
Of the 75,000 vacancies advertised by the state government in the previous year, approximately 20,000 positions have been filled. 1,500 of the advertised 75,000 vacancies will be specifically for sports persons.
Ashok Chandna was speaking at Jhankaar, the Annual Function of Arts College at the Mohanlal Sukhadia University. Chandna also inaugurated the office of the Students Union. He also pledged a donation of Rs 25 Lakh from the state exchequer towards development of sports facilities at the College of Arts.
