Rajasthan Team Departs for Lacrosse Selection Camp

Players selected based on stellar performance in nationals; majority hail from Udaipur’s tribal regions

Udaipur, Aug 1, 2025 - A 25-member lacrosse team, comprising 13 women and 12 men, departed for Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh, to participate in the upcoming selection trials and training camp for the international competition. The event is being organised under the joint aegis of the Lacrosse Federation of India and the Uttar Pradesh Lacrosse Association at the Regional Sports Complex, Gorakhpur from August 3 to August 7, 2025.

According to Ashok Parnami, president of the Rajasthan Lacrosse Association, the players were selected based on their outstanding performance at the national championship. In the tournament, Rajasthan asserted its dominance by winning five gold medals and one bronze across six categories (senior, junior and sub-junior in both Men’s and Women’s categories). Most players are from Udaipur’s tribal belt.

Neeraj Batra is the coach of the 25-member team.

Before departure, the team was felicitated at the Divisional Commissioner’s Office in Udaipur by Rural MLA Phool Singh Meena, Divisional Commissioner Pragya Kevalramani, Deputy Commissioner Chhogaram Dewasi and Jyoti Jain. Players were presented with team T-shirts sponsored by Rajasthan Mines and Minerals Ltd. and the Rajasthan Lacrosse Association.

Selected Players

Women’s: Sunita Meena, Jula Gurjar, Meera Daujha, Dali Gameti, Hemlata Dangi, Vishakha Meghwal, Yashistha Batra, Mukund Gurjar, Yashoda Gameti, Neema Gameti, Roshni Boss, Janvi Rathore and Chanda Gameti.

Men’s: Mohanlal Gameti, Khuma Gameti, Daya Shankar Gameti, Narayan Lal Gameti, Nishant Nagda, Harshit Vaishnav, Neeraj Meena, Mohit Dangi, Mukesh Gameti, Piyush Menaria and Saksham Sharma.

Best wishes were extended to the players by Tribal Development Minister Babulal Kharadi, Udaipur MP Manna Lal Rawat, Gogunda MLA Pratap Lal Bheel, Commissioner of Tribal Regional Development Department Kanhaiyalal Swami, UDA Commissioner Rahul Jain and Rajasthan Lacrosse Association officials including CEO Sajjad Khan and Joint Secretary Mahendra Singh.
