BCCI President CK Khanna announced yesterday during an interview from Bangalore, that Jaipur will be permitted to begin hosting the Indian Premier League matches from this season onwards. A team from BCCI will be visiting the Sawai Man Singh stadium in Jaipur for their evaluation, post which the IPL 2018 season match schedule will be announced.

Rajeev Shukla, IPL Chairman said that if the stadium is ready by April this year, Jaipur will be one of the hosts for this years IPL. In 2013, after the ban on Rajsthan Cricket Association was announced, none of the IPL matches were held anywhere in Rajasthan. However, since the ban is no longer in effect the local team matches (Rajasthan Royals) will be held in Jaipur, added Shukla.

Rajasthan Royals, has contracted the highest for foreign players this season, by signing a Rs 12.5 Crore (GBP 1.4 Million) contract with English player, Ben Stokes. Kings Eleven and Chennai Super Kings were the other two bidders for Ben Stokes. Sanju Samson was the other players (Wicketkeeer) who was contracted with Rajasthan Royals for Rs 8 Crore.

Rajasthan’s Kamlesh Nagarkothi was also in the IPL franchises’ view finder, specially after his notable performance in the Under 19 World Cup. He was picked up by Kolkatta Knight Riders for Rs 3.2 Crore. Khalil Ahmed, contracted with Hyderabad for Rs 3Crore and Aniket Chaudhary with Bangalore for Rs 30 Lakh were the other two Under 19 team players who came under the auction hammer this season.
