Rajasthan Wins 26 Medals at Indore Powerlifting Championship

The team from Rajasthan won a total of 26 medals, including 16 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze at the Western India Classic Powerlifting Championship

Udaipur, Dec 25 - At the Western India Classic Powerlifting Championship held in the auditorium of Baghela Garden in Indore (Madhya Pradesh), the team from Rajasthan won a total of 26 medals, including 16 gold, 5 silver and 5 bronze. Along with this, the Rajasthan Senior Women’s Team won the Team Championship title, while the Senior Men’s Team finished as runners-up.

In the Sub-Junior Girls category, Rajasthan team secured the runner-up position, whereas in the Sub-Junior Boys category, the team finished as second runners-up.

From Udaipur, Kirti Chauhan was Second Runner-Up Strong Girl in the Sub-Junior Girls category, while in the Senior Women’s category, Payal Chauhan was declared First Runner-Up Strong Woman. In the Senior Men’s category, Ajay Raj Gurjar achieved the title of First Runner-Up Strong Man.

Sharing this information, Vinod Sahu, Organising Secretary of the Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association, said that in the Senior Men’s category, Rahul Sharma won a gold medal in the 66 kg weight class, Punit Peswani secured gold in the 83 kg category, Ajay Raj Gurjar won gold in the 93 kg category and Ramchandra Jat earned a bronze in the 74 kg category.

In the Senior Women’s category, Payal Chauhan won gold in the 47 kg category, Anshu Verma claimed gold in the 52 kg category, Kiran Ramchandani won gold in the 84 kg category, Ruksana Bano secured gold in the above-84 kg category, and Manisha Prajapat won a bronze.

In the Junior Men’s category, Nitin won gold in the 66 kg category, Soham Chhangani secured gold in the 93 kg category, and Jitendra Sharma won silver in the above-120 kg category.

In the Junior Women’s category, Bhoomika Saraswat won gold in the 52 kg category, Shweta Kanwar Bhati earned silver in the 57 kg category, Gracy Prajapat won silver in the 63 kg category, Komal Bishnoi secured gold in the 69 kg category and Chandni won bronze in the 84 kg category.

In the Sub-Junior Boys category, Ranjeet Mandal won gold in the 53 kg category, Sunil Sukhwal secured gold in the 93 kg category, Shashank Rang won silver and Mayank Jangam bronze in the 105 kg category.

In the Sub-Junior Girls category, Shivani Singh Rawat won bronze in the 47 kg category, Kirti Chauhan of Udaipur claimed gold in the 52 kg category, Mamta Chanwariya earned silver in the 57 kg category, Siddhi Kumari Pandey won gold in the 63 kg category, and Mahi Meena of Udaipur secured gold in the 69 kg category.

The manager and coach of the team was international player Gaurav Sahu, while the Women’s team coaches were Ashish Jaiman and Ashish Ojha.

Rajasthan State Powerlifting Association president Dinesh Shrimali and Secretary Dr Devendra Sahu extended their congratulations and best wishes to all the players.
