On the first day of National Kayaking & Canoeing Tournament 2012, which started at Fateh Sagar at 9 am today, 1000 meter Sub-Junior, Junior and Senior competitions were held in which Team Rajasthan participated in senior women group and secured 5^th position in the final.

A total of 18 events held today in the assistance of National & International coaches and Technical Manager, and in the presence of President of Indian Kayaking and Canoeing Association, S Raghunath and Association Secretary, Balbir Singh Kushwaha.

Coach Deepak Gupta and Manager Kuldeep Paliwal of Team Rajasthan, who were practicing for past six months with their team-mates, were seen watching and delivering the techniques of other teams to their inexperienced students as this sport is very new to Rajasthan.

Spectators enjoyed this sport keenly as it is the first time that such an event is being organized in Udaipur.

Tomorrow Men/Women Junior and Boys/Girls Sub Junior 500 meter event will start at 9 in the morning.
