Rajasthan’s WCM Dakshita Kumawat Shines at Asian Junior Girls Chess Championship
UdaipurTimes, September 6, 2026 | Rajasthan Local Sports News: Rajasthan’s young chess talent and Women Candidate Master Dakshita Kumawat delivered an impressive performance at the Asian Junior Girls Chess Championship 2026, held from 17 to 25 August 2026 at ITC Maratha, Mumbai, remaining unbeaten throughout the nine-round championship.
Representing India on the international stage, Dakshita entered the tournament as the 19th seed among a strong field of 66 girls representing 7 countries. Despite her starting position, she produced a consistent and confident performance to finish 11th in the final standings.
Dakshita scored 6 points from 9 rounds, recording 3 wins and 6 draws without losing a single game. Her unbeaten campaign against a strong international field highlighted her consistency and competitive strength throughout the championship.
Her performance rating of 2081, significantly higher than her current FIDE rating of 2001, further underlined the quality of her performance. She also gained approximately 38 rating points during the tournament.
The result marks another significant achievement for the Rajasthan chess fraternity and adds to Dakshita’s growing list of accomplishments at the national and international levels. Her rise from 19th seed to 11th position, while remaining unbeaten, reflects her continued progress and growing presence in international chess.
Speaking about her performance, Dakshita said, “I am very happy to have remained unbeaten throughout the championship.
