Kohli–Salt Firepower Beats MI as RCB Seal 18-Run Win at Wankhede

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by 18 runs in a high-scoring IPL 2026 match at Wankhede Stadium. Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, and Rajat Patidar starred with the bat as RCB posted 240/4 and sealed a thrilling win despite MI’s late fightback.

April 13, 2026: Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) registered a strong win over Mumbai Indians (MI) by 18 runs at Wankhede Stadium in IPL 2026. It was a high-scoring match with big batting performances and important bowling at key moments.

RCB batted first after MI chose to bowl. They posted a huge total of 240 for 4 in 20 overs. Phil Salt played a very fast innings and scored 78 runs from 38 balls. Virat Kohli also batted well and scored a smooth 50 runs. The pair gave RCB a strong start with a 120-run opening partnership. After that, Rajat Patidar continued the attack and scored 53 runs from just 20 balls. Tim David added quick runs at the end with 34 not out from 16 balls, helping RCB reach a very big total.

MI Chase Falls Short Despite Late Fight

Mumbai Indians started their chase but lost Rohit Sharma early due to injury, which hurt their momentum. Ryan Rickelton scored 37 runs, but MI kept losing wickets at regular intervals. Suyash Sharma bowled very well and took important wickets, including key batters in the middle overs. Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya tried to rebuild the innings, but MI could not maintain the required run rate.

Hardik Pandya played a good knock of 40 runs from 22 balls and kept MI in the game for some time. Sherfane Rutherford then played a strong and attacking innings, scoring 71 not out from 31 balls with many sixes. However, his effort was not enough to take MI close to the target.

Krunal Pandya was one of the best bowlers for RCB, giving only 26 runs and taking 1 wicket. RCB bowlers stayed calm in important moments and controlled the game well. In the end, the Mumbai Indians finished at 222 for 5, and RCB won the match by 18 runs.
