Reyansh Updadhyay given a ceremonial welcome on return; is now preparing for Chennai championship starting August 27
Udaipur, June 25, 2025 - Reyansh Upadhyay from Udaipur returned to the city to a ceremonial welcome after winning a gold medal at the 6th State-Level Kickboxing Championship. Representing the Rajsamand team, Reyansh secured the gold in the 32 to 37 kg weight category.
The three-day event was held in Jaipur's Mansarovar and saw impressive performances from Udaipur athletes. Coach Bhupendra Singh and managers Chirag Mehta and Rajendra Singh Charan said Reyansh gave the best performance in his weight category, clinching the gold medal.
Reyansh was felicitated upon his return to Udaipur by family, friends and his academy - Mixed Martial Arts Academy, Bedla - and was honoured with a traditional Uparna (ceremonial scarf).
Reyansh is now preparing for the national championship to be held in Chennai from August 27.
“I will give my best and strive to perform well at the national tournament to bring victory to Rajasthan,” the youngster says.
His mother Pallavi Upadhyay shared that Reyansh has had a strong passion for kickboxing from a young age. What started as a hobby has now become his passion. He plays with the sole aim of winning medals and gives his 100% effort in every competition.
