From Record-Breaking Century to Disappointing Duck: Suryavanshi's Roller Coaster IPL Journey

His performance created such a stir that former England captain Nasser Hussain remarked that the teenager’s debut might have made a bigger splash than even Sachin Tendulkar's.

Explore the thrilling journey of Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the 14-year-old sensation who scored a record century but faced disappointment in his following game.

A video of a Pakistani fan has gone viral on social media. After Pakistan lost to India in the 2019 World Cup, the disappointed fan reacted in front of the camera and said, "Ek dam se waqt badal diya, jazbat badal diya, zindagi badal diya."

Many people might remember this line today while thinking about Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Just three days ago, this 14-year-old batsman surprised everyone in the cricket world with his record century in the IPL. All the fans and experts were amazed by his performance.

But in the very next match, Suryavanshi got out without scoring a run. He was dismissed for zero runs off two balls against the Mumbai Indians. He was caught at mid-on by Deepak Chahar.

Stunning Century Followed by a Dismal Performance

Vaibhav Suryavanshi, who was picked for the IPL auction at just 13 and made headlines for hitting a six on his debut, played an impressive knock of 101 runs against Gujarat in Jaipur on Monday. He also set a record for the fastest century, reaching three figures in just 35 balls.

His performance created such a stir that former England captain Nasser Hussain remarked that the teenager’s debut might have made a bigger splash than even Sachin Tendulkar's.

A Quick Setback for Suryavanshi

However, it didn’t take long for the other side of the story to unfold. Today, Suryavanshi came out to bat for Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium, chasing 217 runs.

He was dismissed without scoring, getting out to a yorker from Chahar on his third ball. The next delivery, at around 130 km/h, was outside the off-stump. When Suryavanshi tried to hit over mid-on, he failed to time the shot properly, and the ball was caught by Will Jacks.

Rajasthan Royals' Crushing Defeat

Suryavanshi’s team also suffered a heavy defeat. Rajasthan Royals were bowled out for just 117 runs in 16.1 overs, losing the match by 100 runs. With this loss, Rajasthan’s hopes of making it past the league stage are now over.

Rajasthan currently sits at 8th place, with 6 points from 3 wins in 11 matches. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, are at the top with 14 points from 7 wins and 1 draw.
