Just like every other year, Italica Royal Champion League Cricket was played on the grounds of BN College on 28th February. The match was quite thrilling where Royals bagged the trophy defeating the Titans by 10 wickets. The exemplary performance by Hussain Attari lead the Royals on the path of victory gaining him the “Best Bowler” and “Man of the Match” titles.

The Titans won the toss and opted for batting. Captain Zabir DM and Mustafa Untalawala contributed with 18 runs each in the scheduled 6 overs. Royals had to chase a target of 70 where Captain Mustan Lohawala and Hussain Attari took 1 wicket each. The Royals won the match scoring 71 runs in 5.1 overs without losing a wicket. The opening batsmen Hussain Attari scored 25 runs in 19 balls and Murtaza Nathdwaravala scored 32 runs in 15 balls.

Keeping the covid guidelines in mind, a LIVE telecast of the match was done on You Tube and Instagram. The match was enjoyed online by a good number of people and those who were watching in the BN College grounds enjoyed every 4 and 6 runs and cheered at every wicket taken. The Chief Guest Vice-Mayor Paras Singhvi while appreciating the match said that such matches bring out the sports talents in the youth.

Anwar Hitawala bagged “Man of the Series” and “Best Batsman” titles. Munawwar Kolyari bagged the Best Fielder title and Irfaan Delhiwala hit the maximum 6s creating a record in this tournament. All the above awards were given by Sartaj Sanwari of Sanwari Bros. The winners were given a 3-month free membership by Shape-In.

Adil Fateh of Continental Tuff Glass presented the winning team with a cheque of 8000 rupees and ‘Roots’ presented a cheque of 5300 rupees. The runner-up team got a cheque of 4000 rupees from Hero Region Motors presented by Hussain Rangwala and Mufaddal Dalal.
