Sanju Samson’s Move to CSK in Doubt as Franchise Rejected RR’s Special Proposal
Udaipur, Aug 14, 2025: Talks about Sanju Samson’s possible exit from Rajasthan Royals are increasing ahead of the IPL 2026 mini-auction. Earlier, reports claimed that Chennai Super Kings wanted to buy Sanju Samson. However, new reports say that CSK quickly rejected Rajasthan Royals’ offer to trade their captain for any one of three Rajasthan players.
According to a Cricbuzz report, Rajasthan Royals approached Chennai Super Kings to trade Sanju Samson. But CSK refused and did not agree to swap their captain for any of Rajasthan’s three players.
Players on Offer
The latest report says that Rajasthan Royals had named some specific players in exchange for Sanju Samson. Manoj Badale wanted Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ravindra Jadeja, or Shivam Dube. However, the five-time champion team refused to let go of any of them. Because of this, Samson’s dream of joining Chennai is still uncertain. Unless CSK makes another offer or bids for Samson in the auction, the move is unlikely.
A few days ago, reports said that Samson had formally asked Rajasthan Royals to release him or trade him. This was because the relationship between him and the franchise had worsened. After that, Manoj Badale, the main owner of the franchise, personally contacted all the other nine IPL teams and led the talks himself.
The report also says that Samson’s name is unlikely to appear in the auction. Several franchises have already shown interest in signing him directly. Technically, he could still stay with Rajasthan. However, tensions have reportedly grown between the two sides over several issues, including the decision to release Jos Buttler.
