Selection trials for the Dubai Champions T20 League tournament are being conducted in Udaipur on 22 and 23 February.  Former Captain of the Zimbabwe National cricket team, Alton Chigumbura, along with ICC Level 1 Coach, Yaseen Hussain will be here in Udaipur to select the best performing players from among the contenders.

The selection trials are open for anyone who wants to showcase their talent and have a go at attempting selection for the Dubai Champions T20 League tournament.

What is the Dubai Champions T20 League

Dubai Champions T20 League, a joint initiative by the YAS Cricket Foundation, Hyderabad and Nikhil Doru Academy, Udaipur is an attempt at giving an opportunity to the hidden talent in different parts of India and in other countries towards international exposure.  The tournament is being held solely for the purpose of identifying players who will be able to perform at the larger international level.  Cricket clubs in the region (Dubai and other parts of the Middle East) will absorb those selected and absorb them across 12 teams, who will then compete with each other in the tournament.  The Dubai Champions T20 League will be held from 10-22 April 2020 at Dubai.

Players selected from different countries will be taken to Dubai in an all expense paid trip and will be spread across 12 local league teams.  The tournament will be played across 12 days and each team will play four matches each.  The tournament will be held at the ICC Academy, Dubai.

Elton Chigumbura is a Zimbabwean cricketer, who plays all formats of the game. He was Zimbabwe's One Day International and Twenty20 International captain appointed in August 2014, before stepping down in January 2016. He made his debut at the age of 18, amidst the rebel crisis and has played 14 Test matches.
