Exciting Matches, Knockouts: Shaheed Rajab Ali Tournament Outdoor Events Conclude

Udaipur, June 5, 2025 – The first phase of the Shaheed Rajab Ali Tournament 2025, jointly organised by the Dawoodi Bohra Jamaat (DBJ) and the Bohra Youth Sansthan's unit Student Welfare Society, concluded late last night. The tournament, from June 2 to 4 at Infinity Multi Sports Ground, Udaipur, featured exciting cricket and football competitions that kept spectators thrilled.

Tournament coordinator Adnan Mashraki shared that Rassawala Hurricanes emerged as champions in cricket, while Kathawala Ansar al Sharia FC claimed the title in football.

Outdoor games were played on June 2 and 4, with 12 cricket teams competing. Of these, six teams reached the knockout stage, and the final was held after these matches. In football, six teams played league matches, leading to semifinals and a final between the top four teams.

The 12 cricket teams that participated were:

  • Rassawala Hurricanes
  • Noble Bears
  • KZ Knight Riders
  • Attari Titans
  • Infinite Chasers
  • Aeternum Ashaab e Khaleel
  • Happy Steel Warriors
  • Iqra Royals Six
  • Gulab Tigers
  • Batliwala RCC
  • Rezeen Hitters
  • Mashraki Marvels

Among these, six teams – Rassawala Hurricanes, Iqra Royals Six, Gulab Tigers, Batliwala RCC, Rezeen Hitters, and Mashraki Marvels – advanced to the knockouts. Based on match results, the final was played between Rassawala Hurricanes and Batliwala RCC. Batliwala RCC, batting first, scored 50 runs for the loss of 1 wicket in the allotted 5 overs. In response, Rassawala Hurricanes chased down the target without losing a wicket in just 3.3 overs, clinching the trophy.

For the football championship, there were six football teams:

  • ZA Noor Stars
  • Hindustan Thunders
  • Supreme Royal Champions
  • Attara Attackers
  • Hind Avengers
  • Kathawala Ansar al Sharia FC

In the first semifinal, Attara Attackers defeated Supreme Royal Champions, while Kathawala Ansar al Sharia FC beat Hind Avengers in the second. In the final, Kathawala Ansar al Sharia FC secured a 2-0 victory over Attara Attackers to win the football championship.

Indoor Games from June 12 to 14

Indoor games will be held from June 12 to 14 and will include carrom, chess, table tennis and athletic competitions for children under 10 years of age. Events will be 100-metre race, 50-metre race, relay race and lemon-spoon race. These games will also be held in the evening.

On this occasion, DBJ president Iqbal Hussain Rassawala and DBJ Secretary Firoz Tinwala extended thanks to the cricket umpires Mumtaz Rangwala, Aijaz Kolyari, Anees DM, Firoz Nath and Husaini Beawarwala as well as the football referees Aftab Kutubaliwala, Shabbir Panwala and Arafat Rangwala. Also thanked for their contribution included the live broadcast team of Malak Muhib and Mudassar Zariwala; commentary team Anees Miyaji, Riaz Tinwala and Firoz Lohawala; food service coordinator Abrar Kathawala; refreshment coordinator Shabbar Kutub; and tournament convenor Adnan Mashraki along with organising team members Ali Mazhar Rassawala, Firoz Pipawala, Arif Batliwala, Akhlaq Tidiwala, Afroz Mehmooda and Ashfaq Kader Rassiyajiwala.
