Former Indian Cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, in a surprise move, has resigned from the Rajya Sabha.  His resignation has been accepted by the Rajya Sabha Chairman Hamid Ansari, as communicated by Gurdeep Sappal, the OSD to the Chairman.

Though direct contact or conversation has not been made between media and the former flamboyant cricketer, it is speculated that he would join forces with the Aam Aadmi Party in a bid to contest in the upcoming Punjab elections.
