Shikhar Dhawan Marries Sophie Shine in Grand Indian Ceremony

February 22, 2026: Former Indian cricketer Shikhar Dhawan got married to his Irish girlfriend Sophie Shine in a private Indian-style wedding in Delhi-NCR. The couple announced their engagement on January 2. The wedding celebrations started a few days ago, and they shared happy moments from their Sangeet and Mehendi ceremonies on social media.

For the wedding, both chose traditional Indian outfits designed by Manish Malhotra. Sophie looked beautiful in an ivory lehenga with a matching sculpted blouse. She has often shown her love for Indian fashion, and her bridal look impressed everyone.

This is Dhawan’s second marriage. He was earlier married to Aesha Mukerji, a Melbourne-based kickboxer. They have a son named Zoravar. Their marriage ended in divorce in 2023. In the past, Dhawan has spoken openly about his personal struggles, including the difficulty of staying connected with his son after the separation.

Dhawan shares a long friendship with Virat Kohli. They have known each other since their Under-19 cricket days in Delhi. They also played together for India for many years until Dhawan retired from all formats of cricket in 2024.
