Asia Cup 2025: Shivam Dube Opens Up on Dream to Become a Complete All-Rounder

Sept 12, 2025: Shivam Dube’s bowling role was limited in the IPL because of the impact player rule. But he wants to become a complete all-rounder for the Indian team. He is getting support from head coach Gautam Gambhir and guidance from bowling coach Morne Morkel.

In the first match of the Asia Cup against UAE, Dube took three wickets for four runs in two overs. He said Morne Morkel helped him improve as a fast bowler. He also said the head coach and Morne Morkel supported him a lot.

Worked on Bowling and Batting

After the match, Dubey said that Morkel has been helping him since he returned to the Indian team for the England series. Morkel gave him special advice, which he followed. He asked Dubey to bowl just outside the off stump, work on slower balls, and change his run-up. The head coach and captain told him that his bowling role would be important.

After the IPL, Dubey got two months to work on his game and fitness. He said he worked a lot on his fitness. He also worked on his batting. He knows he has to play as a power hitter in the middle overs. Bowlers have targeted him with short balls in the past, so he worked to increase the range of his shots. He also said that slow balls will be more effective as the tournament goes on and the wickets slow down.

Plan for Pakistan

When asked about the match against Pakistan, Dubey said he follows his coach’s instructions in every game. Whether playing against UAE or Pakistan, he tries to do his best. He said playing for India is a chance to do something good for the country.
