Shooter Apurvi Chandela qualifies for Rio Olympics 2016

Udaipur’s sports star Apurvi Chandela, Commonwealth Gold Medalist made her way to the Rio De Janeiro Olympics 2016 by winning the bronze medal in the 10 meters air rifle event at the World Cup in Changwon (South Korea).

Udaipur’s sports star Apurvi Chandela, Commonwealth Gold Medalist made her way to the Rio De Janeiro Olympics 2016 by winning the bronze medal in the 10 meters air rifle event at the World Cup in Changwon (South Korea).

Chandela became the second Indian to qualify for next year’s mega event after pistol shooter Jitu Rai. She shot a total of 185.6 in the finals behind player of Craotia (Gold) and Serbia (Silver).

Chandela said, “I had been aiming for a World Cup Medal for a long time. I am really happy now. Mu joy was doubled when I realized that I won an Olympic quota for my country. This medal-winning performance has made me more confident. I will work hard and do my best to secure more podium finishes this year.”
