Siraj’s Fiery Spell Wrecks England, Goes Past Tendulkar’s 201 Wickets
Aug 2, 2025 - Team India fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has made his name in Indian cricket history by going past the great Sachin Tendulkar in total international wickets. Siraj has now completed 200 wickets in his international career.
With his fine bowling, he took four important wickets on the second day of the fifth Test against England. This took his total to 203 international wickets. Siraj has 118 wickets in Tests, 71 in ODIs, and 14 in T20Is. Tendulkar took a total of 201 wickets in his career — 46 in Tests, 154 in ODIs, and 1 in T20Is.
Siraj’s Lethal Bowling
This feat came when India made a strong comeback after England’s openers started well on a pitch that suited fast bowlers. Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley added 92 runs in just 77 balls. India got some relief when Duckett was dismissed.
Destroyed England’s Innings
In the afternoon session, Siraj made full use of the chance and destroyed England’s middle order with a brilliant 8-over spell. He dismissed key batsmen Ollie Pope, Joe Root and Jack Bethell. Siraj bowled nip-backers and deadly yorkers. His seam movement and control over swing showed why he is becoming the pride of India’s bowling attack.
Krishna Also Shines
Prasidh Krishna also bowled well and took four wickets, including England’s tail-enders. Because of this, England’s first innings ended at 247 runs, giving them a lead of 23 runs. Harry Brook played an attacking innings of 53 runs from 64 balls.
By the end of the second day, India had found their rhythm. With Yashasvi’s quick unbeaten 51 runs and a total of 75 runs for 2 wickets in the second innings, India now lead by 52 runs.
