Smriti Mandhana Officially Calls Off Wedding With Palash Muchhal - the Full Story
“I want to end this matter here, and I request everyone to do the same" - Smriti Mandhana
Udaipur, Dec 08, 2025: Indian women’s cricketer Smriti Mandhana has officially called off her wedding. The World Cup-winning star confirmed this herself on social media. She shared the news on her Instagram account and announced that her wedding with Palash Muchhal has been cancelled. Smriti also requested everyone to respect the privacy of both families during this time.
Smriti wrote in her post, “There have been many talks about my life over the past few weeks, and I feel it is important to clear this now. I am a very private person and would like to keep it that way. But I want to confirm that the wedding has been called off.”
She further added, “I want to end this matter here, and I request everyone to do the same. Please respect the privacy of both families at this time and give us space to understand and move forward at our own pace.”
Smriti Mandhana’s wedding was scheduled for November 23. Just a few hours before the wedding, her father fell ill and was rushed to the hospital due to a heart attack. After this, Palash Muchhal also reportedly fell ill and was admitted to the hospital but was discharged soon. Due to these health issues, the wedding was postponed. After the delay, the wedding has now been officially called off.
All the wedding functions had already taken place. Only the main wedding ceremony, the seven sacred vows, was left. Videos of the Haldi, Mehndi, and Sangeet ceremonies were later removed from social media by her friends and fellow cricketers. Wedding preparations were stopped due to the medical emergency.
Palash Muchhal Reacts
Palash Muchhal also shared his reaction on Instagram. He posted his statement on his Instagram story a few minutes before Smriti’s post.
He wrote, “I have decided to move on in my life and step back from my personal relationships. It has been very hard for me to see people believe false rumors about something that was very special to me. This is one of the most difficult times of my life, and I will face it with strength and faith.”
He further added, “I hope that as a society, we learn to think before judging anyone based on unconfirmed gossip. Our words can hurt in ways we may never understand.”
