A three day sports event started today at Vidya Bhawan Polytechnic College. The tournament will have various athletic competitions including 100m, 200m, 400m races, javelin throw, shot put, slow cycle race, discus throw etc.

Anil Mehta, Principal of the college inaugurated the event and said that sports nourish skills of a person. It teaches discipline and also helps in developing the characteristics.

The three day event also includes games like spoon race, tug of war and competitions of rangoli and mehendi etc.

In the first day of event, in javelin throw, Roshan Sharma and Amirtlal received first and second prize respectively. Mohammad Farhan stood first in shot put followed by Kamlesh Raj.

In girls 100m race, Vritika Vyas stood first while Monika Joshi and Jyoti Chouhan received second and third prize respectively. Vritika Vyas also won the Cricket Ball Throw followed by Jyoti Chouhan on second and Sandhya Trivedi on third position.

Sushil Kumar won Slow Cycle Race, while Rajesh Kumar and Ajay Oberwal stood second and third respectively in the competition.
